IU-ISURP Summer Program
The eight-week IU-International Summer Undergraduate Research Program invites high-achieving undergraduate international students in STEM fields to gain hands-on research experience while living on campus at IU Bloomington.
Launched in 2010 in partnership with Tsinghua University, the program has since expanded to include many other universities internationally. Over 100 scholar participants and over 23 faculty mentors have hosted scholars in their labs.
ISURP’s vision is to connect and form new relationships between Indiana University and these high-performing international universities and their students. We also aim to promote student recruitment from these top international universities.
The dates for our upcoming summer 2026 program are:
July 4 - August 29, 2026
Students will look over lab descriptions (bottom of the page) and apply for the professor that best fit their interests and experience. Lab descriptions for summer 2026 are still being added to the website, and should be uploaded by early November. Please do NOT apply until all labs are uploaded and you have chosen one that you are most qualified for.
Applications will be open from November 17, 2025 - January 16, 2026.

Please note, this program is only for students that are currently attending non-US institutions. International students that are currently attending a college or university within the US should refer to our STEM Summer Scholars Institute - https://graduate.indiana.edu/funding-professional-dev/undergrad-research/stem.html.
