Graduate Student Appreciation Week

Graduate Students are an important part of the university community. In labs, classrooms, offices, museums--everywhere--graduate students make important contributions to the teaching and research missions of the institution.

Since 1993, Graduate Student Appreciation Week (GSAW) has been celebrated in April.

The 2026 GSAW will take place April 6-10th at IUB.

Posted below are events and opportunities, including those organized by schools and departments across campus. Be sure to check back often as more activities are organized!

The Graduate School

The Graduate School, Bloomington, will provide a continental breakfast in the Graduate Commons in Wells Library (E856) the mornings of April 6-10th, from 9-10:30am. Each day will feature representatives and resources from across campus:

Monday - The Graduate School
Tuesday – The School of Public Health
Wednesday – The College of Arts and Sciences
Thursday – The Luddy School
Friday – The Jacobs School

Note: While students are especially invited to breakfast on the day their school is featured, all graduate students are welcome on all days.

Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG)

Monday April 6th, 3-6pm - Coffee, Chocolate, and Cookies

Grab a coffee, hot chocolate, or cookies at any of the GPSG tables in Wells Library, the IMU, or Ballantine Hall.

Tuesday, April 7th, 4pm at the Eskenazi Museum of Art - Museum Tour for Grad Students

Discover new perspcectives and connect with fellow art enthusiasts, followed by a brief visit to the Lilly Library to view the Declaration of Independence. Please RSVP here.

Wednesday, April 8th, 7pm in GISB 1100 - Graduate Social Mixer

Indiana University Student Government and the Graduate and Professional Student Government are co-sponsoring a social mixer to connect with colleagues across campus. Join us for a fun evening of food, music, games and conversations! Open to all graduate students. Please RSVP here.

All Graduate Students (and their partners and/or children!) are invited to the IMU for music and a cookout for a Friday celebration!

OIS Grad-Scholar Connect

Monday, April 6th, 2-3:30pm at the Ferguson International Center - "Coffee and Financial Guidance"

Join us at the Ferguson Center for coffee and practical financial tips! Hosted by Grad Scholar Connect in collaboration with Money Smarts, this session will cover budgeting, saving, credit, and debt management tailored for international graduate students. Please RSVP here.
